Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the pie crust and bake for 10 minutes if homemade.
- Whisk eggs in a bowl, then add sugar, salt, and optional cornstarch.
- Heat milk in a saucepan until steaming, then remove from heat.
- Gradually whisk hot milk into the egg mixture, then stir in vanilla.
- Pour the custard mixture into the pre-baked pie crust.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
- Cool on a wire rack for an hour, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
Notes
- For a thicker custard, add cornstarch to the egg mixture.
