  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup of maple syrup (optional for extra sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and cube the bread.
  2. Whisk together eggs, milk, cream, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Combine the cubed bread with the custard mixture and let it soak for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  5. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish, pour in the mixture, and drizzle with maple syrup if using.
