- 1 pound Italian sausage (sweet or spicy, your choice)
- 12 ounces pasta (penne or rigatoni work great)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- salt and pepper (to taste)
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- Start by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
- Add the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Stir until the cheese has melted and the sauce thickens slightly.
- Toss the cooked pasta in the sauce until well coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Plate the pasta and garnish with fresh parsley. Enjoy immediately!
