Chili Lime Grilled Octopus Skewers

Delicious and easy-to-make grilled octopus skewers marinated in a spicy chili lime marinade.

  • 2 pounds octopus (cleaned)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 limes Juice
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • Fresh cilantro (for garnish)
  • Skewers (soaked if wooden)

Instructions

  • Start by preparing the octopus. If it’s not already cleaned, rinse it under cold water and remove any membranes or beaks.
  • In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Whisk it all together.
  • Add the octopus to the marinade, making sure it’s well-coated. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  • Once the grill is hot, remove the octopus from the marinade and thread it onto the skewers.
  • Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the octopus is charred and cooked through.
  • Remove the skewers from the grill and garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve immediately.
