- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cups vegetable broth (or chicken broth)
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Gather and rinse the rice, chop the onion, and measure ingredients.
- Melt butter in a saucepan, add onions, and sauté until golden brown (10-12 minutes).
- Add the rinsed rice to the onions and toast for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in broth, bring to a boil, then simmer on low for 15-20 minutes.
- Fluff rice with a fork, season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer to a serving bowl, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
Notes
- For added flavor, use homemade broth if possible.
- Make sure to rinse the rice thoroughly to prevent stickiness.
