- 12 ounces spaghetti
- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Gather and prepare all ingredients.
- Cook spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain.
- In a skillet, heat oil, sauté onion until translucent, then add and brown the meat.
- Stir in garlic, cook briefly, then add crushed tomatoes, sauce, and seasoning. Simmer.
- Reduce heat, stir in heavy cream, and combine well.
- Mix cooked spaghetti with sauce, layer in a baking dish with cheese.
- Bake at 350°F, covered for 20 minutes, then uncovered until cheese is bubbly.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
- Can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
