- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup sugar, for topping
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon, for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, and 1 tsp cinnamon.
- In another bowl, whisk melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients gently.
- Mix 1/4 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon in a separate bowl.
- Layer half the batter in the pan, sprinkle with half the cinnamon sugar, add remaining batter, and top with the rest of the sugar mixture. Swirl gently.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and serve warm, optionally with butter.
Notes
- For best results, avoid overmixing the batter.
- Let the bread cool completely before slicing for cleaner cuts.
