- 6 large croissants, preferably day-old
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and slice croissants in half, placing them cut side up in a greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the croissants.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt until combined.
- Pour custard mixture over croissants, pressing down gently to soak them. Let sit for 10 minutes.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and set.
- Cool for 10 minutes and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
