- 3 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 box of yellow cake mix (about 15.25 oz)
- 1 cup of chocolate syrup
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup of walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)
- 1 cup of shredded coconut (optional)
- 1 cup of whipped cream or Cool Whip for topping
- Maraschino cherries for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Layer sliced bananas at the bottom of the dish.
- Drizzle chocolate syrup over the bananas.
- Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the layers.
- Pour melted butter over the cake mix.
- Add optional walnuts or pecans and shredded coconut on top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
- Top with whipped cream and garnish with a maraschino cherry.
Notes
- For extra chocolate flavor, reserve some chocolate syrup for drizzling on top before serving.
- Let the cake cool slightly for easier serving.
