- 1 pound ground beef
- 12 ounces ziti pasta
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and boil salted water for the pasta.
- Cook the ziti pasta until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart until fully cooked.
- Add minced garlic, oregano, and basil; cook until fragrant.
- Combine the cooked ziti and marinara sauce with the beef mixture.
- Layer half of the pasta mixture in a baking dish, followed by ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan; repeat the layers.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
